TV Tracker (tvtracker.us) helps you keep track of the TV shows you watch. This page explains what information the site keeps, why, and what you can do about it. In short: we only keep what's needed to run your account and your list, we don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your information.
What we keep
- Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, it's handled by Google's Firebase Authentication and stored there in scrambled (hashed) form — we never see it. If you use “Continue with Google,” Google shares your name and email address with us.
- Your list. The shows you follow and the episodes you've checked off, so your list follows you to every device.
- Logins you make for others. If you share your list, the name and username you choose for that person, and whether they can view or edit.
- Contact us messages. The name, email address and message you send through the contact form, so we can reply.
How it's stored
Your account and list are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Your list is private to you and anyone you make a login for. The site owner can see an account overview (name, email, number of shows) and Contact us messages, to run and support the site. A copy of your list is also kept in your browser so the site works quickly and offline; signing out removes it.
Other services the site uses
- TVmaze and TMDB supply show, episode and recommendation information. Your browser requests this directly from them, so they receive the usual technical information any website does, such as your IP address. They don't receive your account details.
- GitHub Pages hosts the site and may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses.
- Google runs sign-in and storage (Firebase), as described above.
The site has no ads and no tracking or analytics tools.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time from the Account page. That permanently removes your account, your list and your checkmarks.
- Remove someone's access to your list from the Account page.
- Ask us anything, or ask us to remove a Contact us message, through the Contact us form.
Children
TV Tracker isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
